CAS-ual Friday

Not sure how I pulled this off but I crafted a card today and

 I am updating my blog for the 3rd time this week. 

While checking out my g-reader this morning, I saw that this weeks challenge on the

 CAS-ual Fridays blog was 

BLING.  

What girl does not like a little bling.  

I have to admit I am not really a CAS kinda girl so I had to think about this card.

Enter treadmill...... 

 thankfully this came to me in a 1/2 hour :)

Here is my take on the challenge:

I put a thin pure poppy matte under the top layer and those 2 layers were

attached with pop dots.

I think I need a new blade on my paper trimmer although this one is not too old but 

I am tired of sanding rough paper!!!

Peace and Chevron Stripes

What ....... twice in one week??  Yep, twice in one week.

Today is a card that I sent to my girls over at lululemon.  I love this store and their workout clothes are the best.  I was in the one here in Raleigh recently and LOVE those girls..... they are so sweet and I know we are going to have a fun relationship.

I feel that I am always at my best when the things are peaking.  Like the one time when I was working for American Airlines we had a plane out on the runway/tarmac and flames came out of the engine.  It was a Sunday so the airport managers were not there so I kicked right in to high gear ( with my 3 inch heels I might add ) and organized the whole deployment on the field and lost a contact.  I thought I was just doing whatever and the next day all the managers of the airport were talking about how calm I kept the situation.  I could write a blog just on working for American Airlines really a whole book.

Here is my one and only Anton.  

He loves his Star Wars magnet figures so I had an empty tea box and I covered it with black paper that I had heat embossed with white stars from the Let Freedom Ring set.  He puts them all over the sides and when he is done playing he puts them all in the box.

And my beautiful Asparagus that I picked up at the farmers market on Tuesday...... so YUMMY.  I bought enough for 2 nights.  Last night I drizzled it with Extra Virgin Olive Oil, a pinch of salt and some AMAZING parmigiano reggiano and baked it for like 20 minutes on 400.  The cheese is all crispy on the top ........ believe me I was doing plenty of tasting standing at the oven.

 Thankfully my sister will not be there because I would burn more calories from laughing.  

Better late than never!!

Gracious I have really been trying to keep up with this whole blog world but seems lately there are not enough hours in the day.  I thought when we moved from NYC I would have so much more time but that is not the case at all.  

This post is for the April Papertrey Pals challenge, like I mentioned above better late than never :)   Our wonderful hostess this month was Liz and the challenge was to use some of our pattern paper that we have been saving for a rainy day.  Well just so happened back in April I needed to make cards for a gift to give to Emma's teacher, LOVE Mrs. Barnes........ she is the best and I am SO THANKFUL that we landed in her class when we got to NC.

and the beautiful part is the farmer we bough our strawberries from uses no pesticides.

We are going back tomorrow to the famers market for more strawberries, I guess the 76 jars we made were not enough so we are going to make more to last each family for the year.

AND

Asparagus is in season and they are AMAZING so I am going to pick up some asparagus and for dinner I am going to make sauteed' shrimp with my seasoning, asparagus, grape tomatoes served over pasta

AND

I will buy enough strawberries to make a cream cheese strawberry tart YUMMO.

Last but not least I took a crazy cardio kickboxing class today and wore my heart rate monitor during the class......... OH MY LORD I burned 905 calories in 45 minutes.  Now that is just crazy talk right there but I for sure have earned a Spaten with dinner tonight.

Happy Birthday LB~~

Today a couple of girls and I are celebrating Laurie's day with a blog hop dedicated to our wonderful, funny and creative friend.  

So what can I say about my friend Laurie ( I call her LB in my head ~~  there are tons of crazy conversations there but that is for another post )  Sure Laurie is creative and always blows us away with EVERY creation but she is also a fabby mommy ( yes I read all of your posts I do not just drool over the eye candy ) she is funny and for goodness sakes she is just an all around nice person!!!  I am so happy that I found my blog friend and one day I know we will finally get together and have a ton of laughs and I would say some margarita's!!!  I hope you have a fantastic day with your beautiful family and that you are treated like the Royalty that you are!!  Sending cyber hugs your way!!

Papertrey Pals Challenge March

As some of you may know I have been MIA for a few weeks ...... things got a bit overwhelming with real life and then when I was creating I did not have the energy to think about taking photos and lighting blah blah blah.  And I have also been über focused on taking off a few inches and lbs.   Thanks to a few of my buddies ....... Keva and Laurie....... here I am with my Pals challenge.

Our challenge for the Pals this month was to create an Easter project.  What to do....... what to do...... I first started with a quick easy basket this morning but could not find my chalk to finish my bunny so ...... he did not make it to Hollywood ........ I knew I wanted to make a basket and I knew I wanted to do something for Emma's teachers and the girls in the office so I went on my mission to find the right basket.  I found this tutorial and the rest is history.  This is one of the baskets....... I am going to be making about 5 more and by then I should have my little stamp to fit in my tiny tags that reads

 "Happy Easter"

And one more thing .......... Thursday is opening day 

Let's Go YANKEES!!!

and I turn 29 again

OH SO Delightful Doilies

Oh how I love the new Delightful Doilies.  I looked at them lovingly everyday wondering what I wanted to do first, other then practicing with them.  Then my Land of Nod catalog came and there was this way too cute pillow....... I looked at it and thought hummm that looks like Heather's NEW PAPER that I LOVE!!!  

I used some Zing embossing powder on my doily and sentiment.  

And now off to the car line to pick up little Miss Emma Rose.
