Betsey is my "paper and scissors" superhero.......

This month the Blog Hop on PTI is all about giving some love to the DT. So here I am giving Betsey some L-O-V-E!!! When I saw the focus for this month I knew who was going to be my go to girl. Every time I see something in a magazine and think "oh I love that card" ........ "oh how cute is that" ...... "oh that is so creative" there is Betsey's name. The same holds true for my card tonight. When I saw this in the Card Creations magazine I thought oh I love that card and I am going to try it for my niece's birthday. Her card is on page 31.

Here is my take on Betsey's card. For outside of the card I cut some PTI card stock to fit the card inside added a few eyelets and tied it up with a nice bright ribbon. The inside and out are stamped with Polka Dot basics in Pure Poppy to complete the package.

I found out through the PTI MB that she used the wildcard cartridge to create this star card but I did not have that so I made it in Design Studio and my boyfriend George is the cartridge I used. I used Star Prints and Shrinky Dinks for the stars that are tied on at the top ...... I colored them with my silver and gold leafing pens. And I would like to add that this was my "FIRST" sewing attempt on paper. YIKES!! I did take sewing in high school and a ton of things came back to me but I am very rusty~~ I think I still have some of the shirts I made in that class...... scary!!!

On the inside I found a font that I liked for the Happy Birthday and followed Betsey's sewing instructions. And again used Heart Prints and Polka Dot Basics on the Vintage Cream card stock. I had a great time making this card and learned a lot about sewing on paper. The kids helped with the shrinky dinks and Emma was in charge of clicking on the cut button for Design Studio and Anton loaded and unloaded the paper ....... I love when there is something for them to do.......they love to help!! And of course one more shout out to Betsey ~~ YOU ROCK GIRL!!!! Thank you for inspiring me all the time, you truly are amazing at what you do!!!

Great card, Sue Ann! Lots of work on that one and I'm so glad to hear that you are including the children. Their creativity starts young. And I'll keep it quiet about you and George, or it will be all over the forum. LOL
