Birthday Boys

Hey there ....... Curt is packing and I am doing a blog post...... hummm sounds a little unbalanced but I have to be ready to jump into action with Little Miss Ava at a moments notice and he is packing stuff in the basement ...... or as we call it, The Man Cave!!!

So today I have 2 cards and a Smilebox.  The cards are for my dad's birthday ....80 years young and my handsome nephew Andre'.  The Smilebox has photos from Anton's birthday weekend and some other photos that I love of him and it is playing the "Anton" song ....... groove version!!!  Cracks me up every time I hear this song.  Okay down to business.

The first card is for my handsome dad ........

I used the "letterpress" technique from this post by Heather and this post by Maile.  I wanted the center to have a bit of background stamping so I cut another exact layer and stamped it with my Text and sentiment and put it right in the impressed spot ........

My nephew Andre' is the one on the right ..... he never fails to tell me that he is taller then me and I will mention that my sister is wearing a bit of a wedge .... he is a tall boy.  His brother "Jr." is on the left...
I LOVE these boys~~~

My stitching is CRAZY but hey that's how it goes :)

If you have time ........
Here is a Smilebox from Oktoberfest and The Planting Fields
The song is in German it is "Anton Aus Tirol"
All good Bavarian's have an Anton in their house.
Opa is Anton and Curt also has an Onkel Tony (Anton) he also has an Uncle Hans and Uncle Franz
not sure why I wrote that other then it makes me smile!!!

Sue Ann.....I finally get to see these cayoot kiddos you talk about all the time.....they are adorable!! I love seeing those faces having so much fun. Now girlie, on to these fabulous cards. Didn't you like that letterpress technique? It is fun but a bit time consuming. I LOVE your dad's card how you put text in the center part. I'm sure your dad loved his card! Seriously, you blew me away with these! Did you get my email?

These cards totally and completely rock! Wow! I love the one for your dad and how you've highlighted the central text with the button frame - and the letterpress looks PERFECT! Love the stiching and dotties on the star card too - just gorgeous!

OMG I could NOT stop watching your smilebox. I swear I went through the whole thing 4 times! I love the photo of the 3 on the bench with crazy faces. Made me LOL. And I LOVE the one of Anton in the air above his daddy's arms...amazing. Also, I can't believe your DH decorated that squirrel cake! WOW!
Now on to the cards. Fabby, both of them, but the one for your dad is top notch! Great impressing, and aging with the ink.
Your dad and nephews are ALL handsome fellas, must run in the family because you and your DH and kids all look like models!

Hi Sue Ann, it's me again!
I'm coming to visit you so we can visit that Italian bakery (YUM!)
How do I get so much done? Um, lots of caffeine, not much sleep, and I completely ignore household tasks! : )

This was such a great post! Loved the Smilebox! What incredible photos. I'm with you, I LOVED the one with him "flying" in the air, but my most favorite was the one with the helicopter. But they were all incredible shots. Your Dad looks wonderful at 80! You are so fortunate. Love the cards and thanks too for the great links. They are so appreciated. Love coming here! Best, Curt
