Papertrey Pals

So this was the first challenge for the "Papertrey Pals" We had to incorporate PAL into our project. I came up with this card for Ava to put in her mailbox for VD. The older 2 get cards that are focused on how they tell us they love us at night. Not sure how it came to be but Emma tells us that we are her heart and her heart is coming out ....... got that one planned need to execute and Anton says YOU MOMMY he cuts off the I love ........ I want to just eat him up when he tells me that !!! Anyway here is my card.

Hippy Hoppity Blog Hop Frog

This is my first Blog Hop ....... Yeah ...... so excited!!!

The challenge for this month is "The Total Package". As Emeril would say "Kick it up a notch"

My card came out of the blue when I was reading the new "Card Creations" magazine. When I saw the sentiment on the frog card I almost broke my neck getting to my craft space. I have had this cute Cloud 9 paper for 2 years. I knew how I wanted to do the card and it came together like I had been planning it forever. Love this Frog .......... and it was the first time to use my "floral frog" I did not go over the top with the envelope but I think it is just enough to make it a "Total Package"

Thanks for looking ♥

The recipe

Card stock: Ripe Avocado, Ocean Tides, Kraft, Rustic Cream and Dark Chocolate on the back
Ink: Dark Chocolate
Stamps: Polk a Dot Basics. the cute little frog from Tiny Treats and Vintage Label
Ribbon: Grosgrain Dark Chocolate
Random eyelets, Spellbinders, googly eyes, Cuttle Bug Swiss Dots

Happy Birthday to my Honey!!!!

This past Monday was Curt's birthday so that means one thing in this house .......Schwarzwälder Kirsch Tort, translastion Black Forest Cake ....... 3 layers of uber yummy moist chocolate cake, 1 layer of chocolate mousse and one layer of cherry liquor cherries and fresh whip cream on the top. This is a family recipe that has been made for his birthday since he was 2. Needless to say there is always pressure to make this cake for him especially when Opa is over ........ he has been eating it for 80 years. In his thick German accent he tells me I have it right every time so that is a good thing..... Opa holds nothing back!!!

I made Curt a card starring his favorite pass time ....... sailing. I used Men of Life on this card and then Pharmacy font for the sentiment on the inside.

Here are the photos of the card, the cake and Emma assisting.

Recipe for the Card

Stamps "Men of Life
Paper PTI Kraft , Pure Poppy and random scraps
Ink SU Chocolate Chip and PTI Pure Poppy Fresh snow and Versa Mark for the chain background
PTI Buttons, twine and grosgrain ribbon
Nesties, SU scallop boarder punch and CB swirls folder ( that is my name not sure if that is the official name but hey sometimes I do not even know my name :)

Emma helping add the vanilla, folding in the egg whites and of course tasting

"Happy Birthday Dear Daddy ..........." Curt calls this the Superbowl of all cakes ......... I would have to agree!!!

Honestly I did not even know if I was going to post this but what the heck. We had a party on Saturday about 2 hours away and had to be there at 11 AM so I threw this together using mostly my computer. The Birthday boy loves Toy Story and since the 3rd one is coming out I thought that would be a good gift ....... I gave his mom the cash for the day out and treats galore and he only got the movie ticket part...... as you can see I was in such a hurry I did not even stamp "movie ticket" I had to use my crazy handwriting. It came out cute enough but not over the top creative. It was like a 5x5 card. All that matters is that he loved it and his movie ticket!! My son Anton saw it and thought it was his ........ "Thank you mommy Thank you" when I had to tell him it was for the party I have never seen such big tears ....... thankfully I saved the file for the photo and printed one for him only I was in such a hurry I forgot to resize and his came out 8.5x11........ the boy held it all day and slept with it too ....... I love that Anton!!!

I used Kraft CS and red/yellow/blue from SU........ I am very bad with names and lines!!!

Thanks for looking!!!

Challenge for Ted on PTI

This card is a challenge that I did for Ted over on PTI........ here is the link to the challenge http://www.happilyevercrafter.com/2010/01/happily-ever-challenged-2.html
..... one day I will learn how to do that short cut trick all the time ......

Back to the card .......the challenge was to make a Valentine's Day card for anyone but you could not use traditional colors and you had to use a color combination from an NFL Team. After much pondering I went with the Steelers ...... my dad is a fan and I will send it to my mom to give to him. I was always a Steelers fan growing up ( had a Bradshaw jersey and all ) and they are still one of my back up teams but for me it is NY Giants who are probably golfing as I type because they are CERTAINLY not in the post season!!!!

I used my Cricut on this for the cute little Raccoon, diamonds and hearts ....... PTI retro would have been my choice here but it is still on the Wish list ....... problem is that it keeps getting bumped down. I did use PTI for the Jot this Down and the tiny heart ...... even the tattoo on his booty :) The paper is from scraps and the ribbon is from my stash I use to make korker hair barrettes for the girls.

MY FIRST POST!!!! HIP HIP HOORAY!!

I did it ....... I found the time and got myself together enough to get this done. I have so much to learn and I am sure I would benefit greatly from classes and tips...... I am a total visual learner. So here goes.........

This photo is of my last baby!! For some reason this moment just said WOW to me and I ran to my wee craft area and made this card ........ I stamped the background with Vintage Labels. I also used VL on the Spellbinders Labels One and as a boarder to "Celebrate" My stamps are downstairs and for the "life of me" I cannot remember the name of the stamp set for the word "LIFE" Looking at Ava in that moment I thought "Celebrate Life"
