Betsey is my "paper and scissors" superhero.......

This month the Blog Hop on PTI is all about giving some love to the DT. So here I am giving Betsey some L-O-V-E!!! When I saw the focus for this month I knew who was going to be my go to girl. Every time I see something in a magazine and think "oh I love that card" ........ "oh how cute is that" ...... "oh that is so creative" there is Betsey's name. The same holds true for my card tonight. When I saw this in the Card Creations magazine I thought oh I love that card and I am going to try it for my niece's birthday. Her card is on page 31.

Here is my take on Betsey's card. For outside of the card I cut some PTI card stock to fit the card inside added a few eyelets and tied it up with a nice bright ribbon. The inside and out are stamped with Polka Dot basics in Pure Poppy to complete the package.

I found out through the PTI MB that she used the wildcard cartridge to create this star card but I did not have that so I made it in Design Studio and my boyfriend George is the cartridge I used. I used Star Prints and Shrinky Dinks for the stars that are tied on at the top ...... I colored them with my silver and gold leafing pens. And I would like to add that this was my "FIRST" sewing attempt on paper. YIKES!! I did take sewing in high school and a ton of things came back to me but I am very rusty~~ I think I still have some of the shirts I made in that class...... scary!!!

On the inside I found a font that I liked for the Happy Birthday and followed Betsey's sewing instructions. And again used Heart Prints and Polka Dot Basics on the Vintage Cream card stock. I had a great time making this card and learned a lot about sewing on paper. The kids helped with the shrinky dinks and Emma was in charge of clicking on the cut button for Design Studio and Anton loaded and unloaded the paper ....... I love when there is something for them to do.......they love to help!! And of course one more shout out to Betsey ~~ YOU ROCK GIRL!!!! Thank you for inspiring me all the time, you truly are amazing at what you do!!!

Honestly I did not even know if I was going to post this but what the heck. We had a party on Saturday about 2 hours away and had to be there at 11 AM so I threw this together using mostly my computer. The Birthday boy loves Toy Story and since the 3rd one is coming out I thought that would be a good gift ....... I gave his mom the cash for the day out and treats galore and he only got the movie ticket part...... as you can see I was in such a hurry I did not even stamp "movie ticket" I had to use my crazy handwriting. It came out cute enough but not over the top creative. It was like a 5x5 card. All that matters is that he loved it and his movie ticket!! My son Anton saw it and thought it was his ........ "Thank you mommy Thank you" when I had to tell him it was for the party I have never seen such big tears ....... thankfully I saved the file for the photo and printed one for him only I was in such a hurry I forgot to resize and his came out 8.5x11........ the boy held it all day and slept with it too ....... I love that Anton!!!

I used Kraft CS and red/yellow/blue from SU........ I am very bad with names and lines!!!

Thanks for looking!!!

MY FIRST POST!!!! HIP HIP HOORAY!!

I did it ....... I found the time and got myself together enough to get this done. I have so much to learn and I am sure I would benefit greatly from classes and tips...... I am a total visual learner. So here goes.........

This photo is of my last baby!! For some reason this moment just said WOW to me and I ran to my wee craft area and made this card ........ I stamped the background with Vintage Labels. I also used VL on the Spellbinders Labels One and as a boarder to "Celebrate" My stamps are downstairs and for the "life of me" I cannot remember the name of the stamp set for the word "LIFE" Looking at Ava in that moment I thought "Celebrate Life"
